Art-Deco interior design gives this fabulous Deco Vibe Key West vacation rental cottage a retro-tropical vibe reminiscent of an early Miami South Beach boutique-style bungalow. From the bright and shiny black kitchen to the sexy pink-and-black bedroom this one-of-a-king cottage showcases a unique period of glamorous interior design. Images of legendary celebrities, pink flamingos, and a few pieces of authentic deco furnishings are worked in to set the deco vibe throughout the cottage and bring alive a playful passion of days-gone-by.
My favorite space in the Deco Vibe cottage is the spacious art-deco bedroom. Vaulted ceilings with recessed lighting accentuate the custom theatrical draperies. Shiny black and chrome vintage period furniture is set against hot pink walls and a period piece flamingo rug is placed at the foot of the bed on oak hard-wood floors. A saucy portrait of Marilyn Monroe, with the same color theme, is placed to one side of the bed to sensuously gaze across the room towards a retro display of pink flamingos that hang on the opposite wall. French doors framed in deco draperies lead from this bedroom to a private little sitting porch. The full bathroom is located just out the bedroom door off the hall that leads down to the open living-room, kitchen, and dining area.
Soaring ceilings and deco art are repeated in living-room, kitchen, and dining area. In the living room you'll enjoy a popular painting by Chris Consani that depicts three legendary Hollywood rebels, Humphrey Bogart, Elvis Presley, and James Dean, playing billiards with a very attractive Marilyn Monroe looking on. Additional retro-style art and low slung furniture appointed with bright color accents set the tone for what it may have felt like to visit Key West in the 1930's and 1940's. The "L-shaped" kitchen makes a delightful statement with unique black shiny cabinets and counters that reflect the canister ceiling spot-lights. A glass table with black leather dining chairs has been added to complete a sleek chic look.
Enter and exit this cottage through double sets of French doors that lead to the swimming pool and Jacuzzi that is shared with the larger home on the property known separately as The Watson House. When rented in combination with The Watson House, this saucy Deco Vibe cottage provides you with a complete estate property known as Grand Dame Key West, one of the most requested locations in Old Town Key West.
The Deco Vibe cottage is set behind giant classic varnished doors that lead to the expansive back deck of Grand Dame Key West. On the upper level of the back deck is a large heated spa and outdoor covered cabana. The spa has a trickling waterfall that spills into the swimming pool below. While the pool and spa are shared with guests of the main house, the cottage is free-standing and was built on the edge of the property to allow for some privacy.
The cottage can be rented separately or together as part of the Grande Dame Key West estate property. The cottage is ideal for 2 people.

Activities: Duval Street is less than a block from the property. Walk to all Old Town features including shopping, restaurants, and museums. Close to Historic Seaport for sailing, boating, beaches, theatre, night life, family activities. Everything is within walking distance. No need for a car. Plan to walk or ride bikes.
Area: A residential street in the tiny section of Key West that is the “island urban” area. A beautiful stand of grand residential homes are in this area. When you stay in this tiny district it’s amazing how much there is to see. One street from the mid-point of Duval Street in Old Town Key West that grew up as the central downtown area in the late 1800’s. From this home you can walk to the famous Key West Historic Seaport and the Mallory Square Sunset Celebration in 10 to 15 minutes.
Restrictions: Smoke free property. Absolutely no pets. Please don't ask.
Notes: The Deco Vibe Cottage is subject to availability, as it is frequently rented as part of the Grand Dame Key West estate. This cottage was created with couples in mind and is best suited for two adults or perhaps a couple with an infant or one well behaved child.
