Exotic Purple Passion Flower Pops out of Key West Garden Fence
The tropical gardens of Key West are lush year around, and a walk around the neighborhoods always brings a special thrill. In the springtime some of my favorite exotics start popping out like this incredible passion flower that shouts out the glory of springtime. Beautiful banana flowers poke out of the trees with baby bunches of sweet fruit showing through. As the sun sets island temperatures stay warm, and sweet tropical breezes waft the smell of night blooming jasmine and mimosa flowers. Be sure to slow your pace way down when you’re in Key West. Stroll the narrow pedestrian streets, take in the gardens and you’ll get closer to nature on your way to the beach or downtown.
You can see for miles & miles & miles … South over the turquoise ocean and the White Street Pier
Fresh Caribbean Breeze, great white herons wade in clear shallows below, relaxing on the balcony, southern sunrise, and full moon rising …
Exclusive Key West Beachfront, a beautiful designer condominium points to the pier and the beach, and directly overlooks the turquoise ocean at a magnificent Key West natural aquatic bird sanctuary. A spacious ocean front balcony provides the perfect setting for gazing and relaxing. Luxurious amenities include large heated swimming pool and immaculate tennis court overlooking the ocean, plus a second free form heated swimming pool.
A Miami South-Beach based architect designed the interior of this property to capture a full birds-eye view of the ocean. A dramatic loft-like ladder that leads to spacious second floor, and a tubular metal railing creates a long hallway that doubles as a ‘watch tower’ to take advantage of every view possible. It’s not hard to imagine from here that Havana, Cuba is an ‘arm’s length’ way … only 90 miles.
Custom hand-made wooden gate gracing the front entrance displays both Mediterranean and Caribbean architectural elements
Artistic style is apparent from the moment you approach the stunning garden curbside of this contemporary Key West Mediterranean-Caribbean Villa. Inside the custom wooden gates, the tropical pool-garden and the interior flow seamlessly together through entrances throughout the home. Designed to invite in the sun and tropical breezes, the great-room is lit by oversized pocket glass doors that open up almost the entire back wall and lead o the large pool deck and free-form swimming pool.
A wonderful indoor /outdoor garden feature of this custom modern Key West home are the private doors in each bedroom that lead to separate areas of the garden. The jewel of the private garden is the generous size free-form swimming pool and tiled garden deck located in the spacious back yard. The garden was designed by local Key West landscaper Scott McDonald who tends to the variety of beautiful tropical and native plantings. A fanciful statue of King Neptune, the Roman god of water, adds symbolic whimsy to the scene.
