Little Palm Suite ~ On Top of Duval, is just as it sounds and as tropically sweet as a suite can be. Nicely situated above Duval, yet tucked back away from the bustle, this pretty one bedroom suite plus den, is nicely posed to offer the ideal retreat from the action. All done up in beautiful layers of palm tree greens against contrasting dark stained bamboo furniture and wood floors, the Palm Tree Suite on Top of Duval has a nice touch of elegance.

Just steps from the action on the 800 block of Duval Street, rent this one bedroom suite plus den and you’re right in the mix whenever you want to be with many yummy options to choose from. Consider the line up for eateries alone, Croissants de France next door, a sparking new yogurt shop below and James Beard award winning 915 restaurant up the street. The 801 Bourbon Bar is just down the block, and from here you’re close to all the elegant shops of Upper Duval, South Beach, and a short walk away from the Mallory Square Sunset Celebration and the night life of lower Duval.

Interior Layout: Fondly named in honor of the world famous “Little Palm Island”, the entrance to the Little Palm Suite ~ Top of Duval is conveniently located off the colorful hallway near to the exterior entrance that leads down to the swimming pool. Step inside and you’re in the den + living room + dining which are set with a beautiful palm green sofa and dark bamboo dining table and chairs upholstered with a tropical palm print. The comfortable sofa converts to a queen sleeper if you need an additional bed. Straight back to the right of the dining table and around the wall is the fully equipped kitchen, complete with a full stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher.  I love that the window over the sink has a down-look view towards the swimming pool below.

Immediately to your left from the entrance, are ‘sturdy weight’ bi-fold privacy doors that lead to the private bedroom and en-suite bathroom. The cheerful bedroom offers a comfortable king size bed and honey colored wicker furniture, matching ceiling fan, and reading lamps bedside.  The full bathroom with bath tub and in-tub shower still its original brilliant white tile with navy blue trim, making a soothing contrast to the palm green colors.

Exterior on Duval Street side:
Don’t’ try to measure the interior design or quality of the Little Palm Suite ~ Top of Duval from the exterior of the building on the Duval Street or Shavers Lane side. This is Key West urban island living in a comfortable and beautiful fashion, calmly positioned above the bustle below. Located on the 2^nd floor of an unassuming building, you will never spot the location of this suite. There is an exterior stairway on the Duval Street side that leads to the 2^nd floor, but it also blends in so well I never noticed it until the first time I visited this space.

Grounds: On the Shavers Lane (or main entrance) side of the property is the ground level resort-style swimming pool which is shared only with the other 5 one bedroom suites in the building. The swimming pool and pool deck have a privacy fence and tropical landscaping. The parking lot provides an additional barrier of distance from the lane.

Parking: There are five parking spaces total for this complex. Since there are six suites, parking is available based upon the availability at time of reservation. From this location it’s best to leave your car at home. Walk everywhere, take a petty-cab, ride a bike, or take a taxi if you need to.  Cars in this area can be a hassle to deal with. Remember, this part of the island was built before cars!  If you can’t find a parking space, no whining … :-)  Also, no RV or trailer parking. Car or small truck parking only!

Activities: Downtown Old Town Key West on Duval Street in the world famous 800 block. On the Duval Street side you’re right in the mix of famous Key West restaurants like Croissants De France and award winning 915, right next to the most lucious Swirilicous Frozen Yogurt,  near unique shops like Cuba Cuba and Glass Reunions. You’re just down the block from the 801 Bourbon Bar in one direction, and in the other, the elegant Upper Duval Street shops. Pretty South Beach is close by at the end of the South end of Duval, and the lower Duval night club scene, Mallory Square Sunset Celebration and Key West Harbor are a short walk away. Sailing, boating, diving - museums, all close by.

Restrictions: Smoke free property. This property is not "child-proof." Location is best for adults, but well behaved children who are good travelers are okay. We do not accept guests less than 25 years of age unless accompanied by a family group or guardian. Smoking permitted outside only. Absolutely no pets. (Please don't ask!) This property is offered as an exclusive vacation rental in the most requested location in Key West.

Area: Walk out your door and you’re in the mix of it all. Best restaurants, shops, galleries, clubs, Hemingway House Museum, Light House Museum, Custom House Museum, aquarium, Ship Wreck Museum, Southern Most Point of the U.S., close to beaches. Walk everywhere from here.
