Mallory Flat on Ann Street

Mallory Flat on Ann Street vacation rental is a nicely situated twosome of ground level suites that has a little bit of something for everyone. Within steps from Key West’s Front Street and famous Mallory Square, the Key West Historic Seaport, and of course Sloppy Joe’s bar, this understated flat is cleverly tucked away from view yet provides great privacy for it’s convenient location. Not every house can transition so nicely from a whole to it’s parts, but this property was renovated to do just that, and here’s how it works.

The flat encompasses the entire first-floor of the property known as the Key West Quarter House. The first-floor flat layout provides plenty of room to spread out … clear into a private fenced back yard with Jacuzzi. Altogether, the interior provides 1200 square feet of living space that includes two bedrooms, two full bathrooms (both with tubs and in-tub showers), two galley kitchens, two living room / dens, and two separate entrances. Rooms can be set up in multiple sleeping ways, depending on the number of people in your group and your sleeping needs.

When you rent this flat, the gathering point for the property is in the back of the house behind a tall privacy fence and is completely hidden from the street. You also enjoy a spacious screened-in porch spanning the entire width of the back of the building plus a private back yard spacious enough for gathering together as a group. The completely covered porch is set with a wooden table for alfresco dining and a rattan sofa, so it serves as an indoor / outdoor Florida room that spills into the private back yard with Jacuzzi hot tub. And talk about convenience … when you’ve had enough relaxation in your own back yard and are ready to get out and explore the island, you just walk out the gate and around the corner and you’re in the mix of it all.
 
Interior:

The interior layout of the Mallory Flat on Ann Street vacation rental is comprised of the two complimentary ground level suites, Downtown Porch Garden Suite, which is entered down the side and through the back of the building, and Suite Escape, which is entered from the Ann Street side of the building. The interior has comfortable furnishings and the soft colored palate creates a calm and relaxing tone throughout. The garden side provides a queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room / den for extra sleeping.

Back of the flat (Downtown Porch Garden): The entrance for the back, is down the left side of the building as you face it through a tall locking gate. Three steps lead to the screened- in covered porch. French doors lead from the porch to the living room / den that provide a queen size sleeper sofa and comfortable chairs. Straight ahead is the spacious galley kitchen that has been recently upgraded with stone tile counter tops, full size black appliances, and a breakfast bar with beautiful round bar stools and ample counter space. The bedroom, located off the hall, provides a king size bed and full closet. The full bathroom has a tub and shower, nice vanity sink and a large mirror with vanity lights.

Front of the flat (Suite Escape): The hidden front entrance on Ann Street is neatly camouflaged by lattice on the front porch. Step inside and you’re immediately in the living room / den that adjoin the galley kitchen straight ahead. This kitchen was also recently upgraded with stone tile counter tops and tiled floors, and counter height ‘breakfast bar’ that divides the two rooms. The bedroom and full bathroom are located to the left of the living room off the hall. The bedroom has 2 comfortable twin sized beds (that can be made into a king size bed), and a large closet. The full bathroom has a tub and in-tub shower, nice vanity sink and a large new mirror with vanity lights. A queen size air bed can be made up in the living / room den at request.  

Exterior:

The focus of this property is the spacious back yard with large Jacuzzi hot tub completely hidden from the street. Having a real Florida Keys style private back yard in a vacation rental property in a downtown location such as this is a rare find. An aficionado of historic Key West, the owner of this property chose to keep it simple rather than over-gentrifying the back-yard scene. Here you find the large Jacuzzi tub and some lounge chairs and a BBQ grill. A few steps up lead into the elevated back porch, that’s set with furniture for indoor/outdoor living. A double set of French doors adjoin the porch and serve as the main entrance to the unit.
 

NOTE: There are two other suites located on the second-floor of this building that are not included in the Mallory Flat on Ann Street combo. Because of their sole location on the second floor with completely separate entrances, they are not in direct relation to the first-floor twosome presented here. However, if you have a larger group (or think the size of your group may grow), or if would like complete privacy, consider renting one or both of the other two suites, Captain’s Quarters and Crows Nest Suite. Or, the entire house can be rented as the Key West Quarter House.

SWIMMING POOL NOTE: If you have your heart set on lounging around a swimming pool, Dante’s Key West is close by at 951 Caroline Street. Dante’s is a beautiful resort-style pool-bar restaurant right on Key West Harbor Walk. The swimming pool is large and immaculately kept and you are welcome to use the pool. The scene is casually elegant and offers a real taste of the Key West “resort life” without the expensive cost of renting a luxury hotel.  Between the Suite Escape vacation rental, and Dante’s resort style pool bar restaurant you can have it all at an affordable price!

Amenities: Two basic equipped kitchens with microwaves, a/c, two 36 inch flat screen cable TV’s. Private back covered screened-in porch, fenced back yard, and Jacuzzi tub, washer / dryer. Linens and towels are provided. Note: There is dishwasher.

Activities: Just down the street from the Mel Fisher Treasure Museum, the Custom House Museum, Mallory Square Sunset Celebration, the Key West Aquarium, too many great restaurants to mention. Around the corner from Sloppy Joes Bar, and short stroll to the famous Key West Historic Seaport. Close to theaters, shopping, water sports and beaches.  All Old Town features are a short distance.

Area: Downtown Old Town Historic Key West.  Block off Duval Street, walk to all Old Town Key West features. Great restaurants, shops, galleries, clubs, Hemingway House Museum, Light House Museum, Custom House Museum, Key West Aquarium, Ship Wreck Museum. 5 minute walk to the famous Sunset Celebration at Mallory Square.
