In honor of a world famous Key West desert that’s an international icon, we’re delighted to present Suite Key Lime Pie ~ On Top of Duval. It may be a stretch to call Key Lime Pie a destiny, but Key West is most certainly world famous for the delectable dessert as it is a vacation destination. Key Lime Pie is one of the most sought after tastes on the island. And in honor of the pie and the joy it brings … this savory suite was given an inspired décor and the celebratory name, Suite Key Lime Pie.
Just as everyone seems to have their own favorite version of the pie, this property caters to a particular preference that’s looking for exactly what they want. Rent this suite and here’s just some of pleasures you’ll find: Beautifully renovated and nicely appointed; within steps of the 800 block of Duval Street … and yet set back away from the action; amenities of a more expensive luxury accommodation … but very affordable; absolutely ideal for two people … but also comfortable for up to four. Brilliantly done up in bright key-lime green and creamy yellow, the dark stained bamboo floor makes a chocolaty contrast. However you set it up, it will be a decidedly delicious downtown escape in Key West.
Suite Key Lime Pie ~ On Top of Duval vacation rental is one of six beautifully redesigned suites, called On Top of Duval ~ Incognito, located on the 2nd floor of a handsome mid-century building. The building is skillfully set between a tiny little lane on the main entrance, and Duval Street on the back. Towards the main entrance for the suites you’ll enjoy the luxury of the ground level resort-style swimming pool and sun deck. This feature is for the exclusive use of the six suites in the building. A tall fence and lush landscaping give the pool area privacy, plus a nicely landscaped parking provides an additional buffer from the lane. On the Duval Street side you’re in the 800 block right in the mix of one-of-a-kind shops, award winning restaurants, and close to all famous attractions.

Interior Layout: Suite Key Lime Pie ~ On Top of Duval is nicely situated up the stairs, off the colorful hallway near to the main entrance of the building that leads to the swimming pool. Open the door to the suite and you’re met with the vibrantly colored den + living room + dining area. The room is beautifully set with a beautiful lemon colored sofa with matching bamboo dining table, with glass table top, and chairs upholstered with a key lime print. The cushy sofa converts to a queen sleeper if you need an additional bed. Straight back to the right of the dining table, and around the wall is the fully equipped kitchen, complete with a full stove and dishwasher. There are plenty of large windows throughout the suite to invite in the sunlight.
Immediately to your right from the entrance, are ‘sturdy weight’ bi-fold privacy doors that lead to the private bedroom and en-suite bathroom. Tasty colors follow into the bedroom with limey greens and lemony yellow keeping with delectable them. The bedroom offers two comfy twin size beds (that can be pushed together to make a king). The full bathroom with bath tub and in-tub shower still its original brilliant white tile with navy blue trim, making a soothing contrast to the bright green colors.
Exterior on Duval side:
This is Key West urban island living in a comfortable and playful fashion, nicely positioned above the bustle below. Located on the 2nd floor of a renovated 1950’s building, you will never spot the location of this suite. There is an exterior stairway on the Duval Street side that leads to the 2nd floor, but it also blends in so well I never noticed it until the first time I visited this space.
Here’s a taste of just some of the line-up: Croissants de France French restaurant is next door – a little like having French restaurant breakfast service. Quickly walk to South Beach which is just up the street at the southernmost end of Duval. Artisan shops are all around like Glass Reunions, Cuba Cuba, Key West Towels and Fast Buck Freddie’s. A natural yogurt shop is right below you and Grand Vin wine tasting and award winning restaurants like 915 are just up the street. Famous nightlife like Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and 801 Bourbon Bar are a few blocks away. And the Mallory Square Sunset Celebration is a 5 to 10 minute walk away.
Grounds: The main entrance for this building is on the charming little Shavers Lane side of the property. Immediately off the lane is a nicely landscaped deep parking lot that provides a barrier from the lane. A tall privacy fence (with locked gate) and lush tropical landscaping hide the ground level resort-style swimming pool. The pool is reserved for the exclusive use of the guests of the six suites in the building. A private staircase past the pool leads to the 2nd floor where the suites are located.
Parking: There are five parking spaces total for this complex. Since there are six suites, parking is available based upon the availability at time of reservation. From this location it’s best to leave your car at home. Walk everywhere, take a petty-cab, ride a bike, or take a taxi if you need to. Cars in this area can be a hassle to deal with. Remember, this part of the island was built before cars! If you can’t find a parking space, no whining … :-) Also, no RV or trailer parking. Car or small truck parking only!
