Tropical Chill vacation rental is a designers dream to creatively transform a tropical garden hideaway into an intimate contemporary island retreat was the inspiration of the owner-designer of this upscale modern luxury cottage. By adding a spacious garden deck and sleek swimming pool as the main focal point, the new elegant design produced a refreshed and well-thought-out modern floor plan that artfully merges sunlit indoor rooms with the outdoor tropical pool garden.

Cleverly tucked away and completely hidden from the street, you access this garden property through a private gated entrance where you walk down a little pathway leading around to the elevated pool deck and up a few steps to the covered front porch entrance. Single-paned French doors line the porch to connect most rooms to the pool deck creating the ultimate inside-outside tropical setting. But the main entrance to the interior of the house is through the last set of French doors that invite you into the pool-side kitchen + dining + family room.

The interior decor of this modern Tropical Chill vacation home embodies the builder's penchant for minimalist simplification, with its clean-lined cabinetry, light wood floors, slate tile, and elegant spot lighting. Wall colors are earthy and soothing, the perfect back drop for the beautiful Metro Euro furnishings of understated black leather, glass and chrome table with retro chairs, and built in light-wood cabinets with black polished granite tops. Tasteful art work and large flat screened TV's are the perfect appointments to complete the overall soothing ambience. Modern euro-elegance was further carried to the garden by using frosted tempered glass panels on the deck railing creating a sophisticated urban island essence.

One of my favorite designs of this hidden home is the layout of the two bedrooms. Elegant yet simple in design, both the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and second bedroom all have French doors that open right out to the pool deck for tip-toe garden gazing. Enjoy the moon glow at night, and then open your eyes in the morning when you'll surely be enticed to take a morning dip - the perfect way to slowly wake up in Key West.

And yet another refreshing feature of this favorite property is the screened-in "conservatory" situated just off the dining / family room. A re-invention of the old "Florida Room", this spacious indoor / outdoor room offers another great space for reading, writing, and relaxation in paradise just as it did in days gone by.

Neighborhood: Located in the Tennessee Williams - White Street Gallery neighborhood of historic Old Town Key West, this property is located off-the-beaten-path close to White Street, the beach, shopping, a diversity of locally favorite restaurants, gourmet grocery store, deli, art galleries, gym, and some of the best Cuban Coffee on the island. It is also adjacent to the rear of our Sweet Sunshine Garden Cottage. While the properties are made completely separate with a large privacy fences, and are generally rented separately, it may be possible to rent the properties together if you need more room.

Area: This property is ideally located in the White Street Gallery District of Old Town Key West in a historic neighborhood just a few streets from White Street and Higgs Beach. From this location you can quickly walk to Fausto's Fine Food Palace (fine wine, cheeses, and gourmet foods), Sandy's Cafe of Cuban coffee, numerous art galleries (White Street Gallery area), and yoga and exercise studios. Duval Street shops, attractions, and the Historic Seaport District is a ten minute walk.
