Located in the Historic Seaport neighborhood of Old Town Key West, the curb-side view of this 1900’s wooden Victorian displays treasured traditional characteristics. But inside and poolside, it offers all the luxurious amenities of an upscale modern home. Original hardwood floors have been restored to a glistening finish. Neutral paint throughout carries a calming elegant theme. Eyebrow trimmed historic French doors add priceless authentic charm. An abundance of traditional sash windows throughout the house invites in the sunlight into the rooms. Gingerbread porches grace the entire width of the front of the house and lead you to the interior.
Once inside, the beautiful blending of old-with-the-new begins right away. The entrance hall welcomes you at the elegant 1930’s wooden staircase. Situated at the front-left side of the house, the stairs lead to the four upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms. But first we look to our right at the expansive modernistic great room on the first floor.
The beautiful wide-open great room encompasses the entire front-right of the house. The living room grouping, furnished with a large L-Shaped comfortable sofa, is placed at the front of the room. Just beyond the living room set, a dining area offers an elegant table and bentwood chairs. A spacious kitchen island, complete with prep sink, ties the great room together.
The fully equipped kitchen is set for inspired cooking and entertaining. Bright white cabinets, state-of-the-art stainless-steel appliances and granite counter tops creates a sought after minimalistic modern design.
Bedroom One (Master Bedroom) - Past the kitchen, a hallway leads to the back of the house. Here we find a chic and luxurious master bedroom suite. The first-floor bedroom is furnished with a modern 4-poster queen size bed, light wood side tables, and a sitting chair.
The bathroom features a glamorous clawfoot tub, tiled shower, and dual free-floating vanity sinks. A black and white combination of traditional floor tile and comtemporary wall tile make a stunning backdrop. A single pane French door provides a pleasing view of and access to the swimming pool and sun deck at the back of the house.
Before we go upstairs, please take note - Along the hallway next to the staircase, we find two important rooms of common convenience. A stylishly modern half-bath with a sink and commode. This bath is easily accessed from the great room and the back yard pool deck. There is also a separate laundry room with twin washer and dryer sets.
Returning to the great room, at the front entrance we ascend the graceful staircase to the 2nd floor. Here we find four deluxe bedroom suites. Each bedroom is designed and furnished with high-end furniture in a unique theme. A classic Spanish-style dark wood carved bed lends a sense of history in this renovated centurion home. It’s a paired in perfect contrast with contemporary wood and cane side tables and matching dresser that tastefully adds a tropical style.
The en-suite bathroom is sleek, angular, and spa-like. Tiled and painted in shades of white, it provides an oversize shower with a frameless glass curtain. A free-floating vanity cube with back lit mirror completes the refined bathroom.
Bedroom Suite Three – Down the hallway, bedroom three displays a sophisticated linen pillow-back queen size platform bed. The elevated interior design is completed with light wood and wicker end tables and bookshelf.
The modernistic en-suite bathroom features an oversize shower finished with painted porcelain tile with a blue ocean wave pattern. The wave effect creates a gorgeous and pleasing aesthetic and adds a special tropical touch. Black shower and sink fixtures punctuate the look and hint at the antiquity of the house.
Bedroom Suite Four: Back into the bedroom hall, we turn our focus to the fourth bedroom suite that offers a king size bed. The deco style rattan bed provides a glamorous tropical backdrop to the room. Light wood and wicker end tables complete the high-class island style.
The en-suite bathroom for bedroom four displays its own version of island elegance. Light grey-blue subway tiles finish the oversized shower walls. Vintage pattern tile floors lend a nostalgic touch to this otherwise ultra-modern bathroom.
Bedroom Suite Five: Offering a king size bed, the collection of furniture in bedroom five is identical to what is placed in bedroom four. As described above, the fifth bedroom is sure to make you feel like you’re relaxing at a superior tropical island retreat.
