Key West Christmas Song

Nothing can stop the Spirit of Christmas. In Key West we don’t have snow, but we creatively adapt our holiday traditions to our fabulous island climate. Christmas trees and songs from the heart take on a unique tropical twist.
Sing our song with the same tune as a favorite childhood song, “It’s Beginning to Look A Lot like Christmas,” written in 1951 by Meredith Wilson and sung by Perry Como.
“It’s Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas Song … Key West Island-Style”
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev’rywhere you go;
Take a look at the shiny palms glistening in the sun
With candy canes and white rock lanes aglow.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Cheer in ev’ry island store
But the prettiest sight to see is the wreath that will be
On your own Key West door.
A Cuban cigar and an electric car
Is the wish of Grandpa and Ben;
iPhones that talk and sing while you walk
Is the hope of Janice and Jen;
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev’rywhere you go;
There’s a tree in a Duval Hotel, one in Bayview park as well,
The sturdy kind that doesn’t mind a tropical blow.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas;
Soon the bells will start,
And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart.
Merry Christmas from Vacation Homes of Key West (VHKW). May all your wishes come true đŸ™‚
