Key West

Born in Key West, Sam spent his early youth growing up on the island. After freshman year at Key West High School, Sam jumped on an opportunity to spend his middle high school years in Mallorca, Spain before returning to Key West to graduate. Sam earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree at Boston University, with a dual concentration in Finance and Real Estate.

Following university, Sam served in the Peace Corps in Cameroon, Africa for nearly two years. When his service was interrupted by the global pandemic in 2020, he moved to Boulder, Colorado, for an employment opportunity in commercial real estate with a private acquisition and management firm. From there he moved to Los Angeles to take a position in institutional class real estate asset management. There, he and a small team managed over 3.5 million square feet of the company’s Class A+ high-rise office portfolio.

Sam returned to Key West in September of 2023 to join the VHKW team full-time. He brings a unique combination of local island knowledge enriched with a distinctive global perspective. On weekends you can find him catching live music around town, swimming in the ocean, practicing yoga, and spending time with friends, family, and his pup Chimi.

James Andrew brings a diverse background in military service, technology, and business management to his role as Chief Information Officer at VHKW.

After serving in the U.S. Army from 1993 to 1997, including a deployment during the Cuban migration crisis in Panama from 1994 to 1996, James pursued his passion for technology. Computer Science at Colorado State University from 2001 to 2003.

After college, James resided in Astoria, Oregon until 2019, where he founded BlankZebra, a website development company. During this time, he also collaborated with VHKW building and developing their website and property management software.

Relocating to Key West in 2020, James formally joined VHKW as General Manager in April 2021. Leveraging his extensive experience and innovative spirit, James continues to drive VHKW’s growth and success in property management and technology integration as he transitioned to Chief Information Officer in 2025.

Chimichurri Malfoy Klitenick joined VHKW in the summer of 2024. After being adopted by Sam in Ramrod Key, Chimi moved to Key West where he fell into his role as VHKW’s Chief Security Officer.

When not in the office, Chimi enjoys running around the yard with his bone, eating ground turkey, and playing with his doggie cousins.

Audrey joined the VHKW team in 2023, coming out of retirement after over 10 years. Always entrepreneurial , Audrey started her  own unique baking business at 17. Eventually, she would start her own gourmet vegetarian, catering business while residing in Toronto. This is also where she developed her interest in real estate and bought her first investment property at the age of 29.

Now having spent more than half her life in Key West, she fancies herself an ambassador of our great town. With a strong background in property management and marketing she happily takes on a myriad of tasks daily to ensure a positive vacation experience. With a BA in Comm arts and a strong interest in real estate investing and developing she brings a fresh perspective to dealing with day to day requests. An avid fitness fanatic, she also teaches spin classes on the side. Her hobbies include, gourmet organic cuisine, ceramics, fast cars and looking after her 3 stepsons.

Lauren Bouchard is the overseer of accounting operations at VHKW, bringing over a decade of experience in both private and public accounting. Her background includes roles in tax, audit, and business consulting.

A native of Key West, Lauren graduated from Key West High School and Florida Keys Community College through the dual enrollment program. She furthered her education at Florida State University, majoring in Accounting.

Following her studies, Lauren began her career in the Audit Department of a nationally ranked accounting firm in Fort Lauderdale. During a brief hiatus from Fort Lauderdale to prepare for the CPA Exams, she gained valuable experience at local firms in the Florida Keys and served as the Accounting Manager at Ocean Reef Community Association. Upon obtaining her CPA certification, Lauren returned to Fort Lauderdale as an Assurance Senior, specializing in governmental sector clients.

Despite enjoying city life, Lauren rediscovered her passion for Key West during the pandemic while working remotely. She joined the VHKW team in 2021, where she has thrived both professionally and personally. Lauren met her husband in Key West and has since expanded her family to include two daughters and a stepdaughter.

Allison Hopkins joined our VHKW team in December 2023. As a military spouse and mother of two girls, she brings a unique perspective from her experiences moving around to various coastal destinations. Allison possesses extensive customer service expertise, having worked in the field since she was very young. Her career began in retail and progressed to the auto industry, followed by a position in auto insurance. This led her to where she is now, working in vacation rental management.

After stepping away from her professional role to care for her young children while her husband was frequently deployed, she took on the voluntary leadership role of President of the Family Readiness Group for her husband’s carrier. This taught her a lot about crisis management, having around 4,000 military families to look after.

Relocating to Key West in October 2023 reignited Allison’s interest in real estate, leading her to join the vacation rental industry. Passionate about Key West, she is dedicated to learning all about the area to provide exceptional service to our guests. Allison thrives in her role in guest services, driven by her love for working with people.
