Sometimes called the sport-fishing capitol of the world, the Florida Keys are a prime fishing destination for many anglers. The summer season is heating up and there are various species that can be targeted this time of year. Below is a short report of what you can expect to catch, while fishing off Key West, FL this spring.
Fishing in the Florida Keys in the spring time is at its prime. There are so many different species of fish you can target this time of year. On the reefs the Snapper and Grouper are biting cut bait and live bait along with schools of spawning Permit and Jacks.
Offshore you will find loads of Mahi Mahi, some Skip Jack Tuna, Wahoo under floaters and weed lines and Swordfish (SEE THE VIDEO BELOW) on the Continental Shelf. Tarpon fishing in the channels nearshore the month of May and June is a must do as well.
